This is a new work in progress female GI Joe figure. The head is a casting I believe, or it may be an original sculpt. I bought it on ebay, along with the custom original sculpt female torso. Both came from the Angel Forge. Check them out, they have really cool custom action figure parts.
The photo below shows how I ended up attaching the lower and upper torso parts. Sithfire30, a brilliant sculptor and figure designer had mentioned that he uses magnets to hold pieces together instead of pegs, because pegs end up wearing out and magnets give a strong hold that still allows for full articulation. I think I may be a total convert from here on out.
Check back soon to see this crazy chick all painted up, geared up, and ready to bring the fight!
This is my first crack at doing actual custom "Joes". I've used lots of Joe parts in making my SW customs, and the fodder and weapons just keep piling up, so for a while I think I'll be adding to my "mercenary Joe" universe. I still love Star Wars the most, but I think I need a short break. These badasses were put together for a contest on Imperial Shipyards and I'm super stoked on how they turned out, especially the custom female GI Joe. She was my only successful attempt to date on painting eyes from scratch. Enjoy!!!
About My Custom Action Figure Blog
After being totally wowed by the plethora of Star Wars, GI Joe and Marvel Universe custom figures on the internet I got inspired to bust a couple out myself! The purpose of this blog is just to share my work, get feedback and make connections with other people who love custom action figures and creative expression as much as I do. I love comments, whether you love my stuff or downright hate it, so leave your opinions for me to see! I am always open to ideas and suggestions for new projects as well. Thanks for viewing, and may the Force be with you.
